This is me making lemonade
Welcome to Ardent Change, I’m Aruna and I have finally found my voice. Please keep reading if you are interested in the person writing all these blogs. I have always found life hard. I was told to get up and keep going every time I was knocked down. Internalising everything, ignoring or looking away when experiencing racism or sexism instead of dealing with the problem is not the solution. But when life gives you lemons.....
'You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.'
- C.S. Lewis
Deal with it
George Floyd happened, I turned 50, my family experienced hate crimes. I just gave up and depression and illness followed. Then the pandemic happened, the #metoo and #blacklivesmatter movement actually forced change. However, ethics don’t seem to matter anymore, lies are forgiven easily and second chances turn into third, fourth and fifth chances.
It makes you feel powerless, angry and it makes you wish that people would treat others the way they want to be treated. I worry about my children and their children. They are the future after all. What they need is a world where kindness, empathy and encouragement are the norm.
Looking through the lenses of equality, diversity and inclusion, I have tried to put things in perspective. My blogs are my simple way of sharing my newly found insights. If you want to let me know what you think, please connect.
Please note that all the views shared in my blogs are my own. I am looking forward to starting a conversation.
